CJP (Color Jet Printing)

CJP (Color Jet Printing)

ColorJet Printing (CJP) is an additive manufacturing technology which involves two major components – core and binder. The core material is spread in thin layers over the build platform with a roller. After each layer is spread, color binder is selectively jetted from inkjet print heads over the core layer, which causes the core to solidify. The build platform lowers with every subsequent layer, which is then spread and printed, resulting in a full-color three-dimensional model. CJP is often a lower cost option, and is perfect for creating full-color concept models, architectural models, and demonstration models. Whether printed with color or in standard white, parts can be additionally clear coated to add a hard, smooth coating or wax coated to smooth out the surface finish.

Benefits

Printed in a complete spectrum of brilliant full colors.

Lead Time

Most CJP projects ship out in a standard lead time of 3 – 4 business days.

Tolerances

While visually impressive, CJP prototypes have no stated dimensional tolerances and should not be utilized for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy, or for very large designs that need to be built in sections and bonded together to be assembled.

Build Layer Thickness

CJP parts are typically built with a layer thickness of .003” – .004”.

Recommended Minimum Feature Size

CJP parts have a recommended minimum feature size of around .040”. Single piece build size is as large as 10″ x 15″ x 8″.
